LOANi App (“LOANi”, “we”, “our”, or “the Company”) is a digital lending platform operated by BANUI Digital Lending Ltd, a licensed Non-Deposit Taking Financial Institution (NDFI) incorporated in the Republic of Rwanda.
We are committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality, and security of personal data entrusted to us, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including Rwandan data protection, cybersecurity, and financial services regulations.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data when you use the LOANi App and related services.

B. SCOPE OF THIS POLICY
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the LOANi App and covers personal data collected through the mobile application, digital onboarding processes, customer support interactions, regulatory and compliance activities.
C. PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT
We may collect the following categories of personal data, strictly limited to what is necessary for our services:

• Loan applications and repayment information

• Credit-related information required for lending decisions

• Information required for AML/CFT and fraud prevention

D. PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING
We process personal data only for legitimate and lawful purposes, including providing and managing digital lending services, assessing creditworthiness and managing loans, complying with legal and regulatory obligations, preventing fraud, money laundering, and financial crime, communicating with users regarding services and support, ensuring platform security and operational integrity
E. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING
Personal data is processed on one or more of the following legal bases :
• Contractual necessity : to provide requested financial services
• Legal obligation : to comply with financial, AML/CFT, and regulatory requirements
• User consent : where explicitly required (e.g. onboarding)
• Legitimate interests : for security, risk management, and service improvement
F. DATA SECURITY MEASURES
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, role-based access controls and authentication mechanisms, audit logs and monitoring of system activity, secure infrastructure and regular security assessments
Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only and strictly on a need-to-know basis.
G. SHARING OF PERSONAL DATA
We do not sell personal data.
Personal data may be shared only with regulated service providers supporting our operations (e.g. IT, compliance), with competent authorities where required by law or regulation, for regulatory reporting and lawful investigations.
All third parties are subject to confidentiality, security, and data protection obligations.
H. DATA RETENTION
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, and meet legal and regulatory record-keeping requirements.
Certain financial and transactional records may be retained for up to ten (10) years, as required by applicable regulations.
I. YOUR RIGHTS
Subject to applicable law, users have the right to access their personal data, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, request deletion where legally permissible, object to certain processing activities, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

J. AUTOMATED PROCESSING
LOANi App may use automated or semi-automated systems to support credit assessment and risk management.
Where applicable, users may request information about such processing and request human review in accordance with the law.
K. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Personal data is primarily processed and stored in accordance with Rwandan regulatory requirements.
Any transfer outside Rwanda, if applicable, is conducted in compliance with applicable data protection laws and safeguards.
L. PRIVACY OF MINORS
LOANi App services are not intended for individuals under the age of 18.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
M. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect legal, regulatory, or operational changes.
